I build tools, just as I wanted them to exist.
Coming from someone who built hundreds of self tracking Excel sheets, I have entered the build-your-own era with both feet. I now build products out of my very own everyday pains, packaging each one into its own branded product, for fun.
Is there a market for them? Probably a flooded one by now. Am I reinventing the wheel here and there? Surely, but whose wheels would I be showing off, if not my own?
Anyway, here they are, and I am as proud to use them as I am to share them with you.
Mariano Aguirre
I used to run some days in adagio, when I really needed vivace. In the past, I've shown an incredible ability to procrastinate, so I had to build a complex, multi platform product about it.
Metronome
Set and keep your own tempo.
Define your ongoing projects, break them into measurable tasks with a clear definition of success, then fill tomorrow's available hours with them. You start-stop your focus periods with a physical, ad hoc chronometer. At the end of the day you see how much of it was real focus, and what goes into tomorrow's hours.
Honestly, my best product so far, and the best personal time management tool I know of.
Find your missing hours →Going job hunting can be overwhelming when you have nobody to tell you where to shoot next. So I got her to point me where, and how, and to keep track of all my prey.
Ceres
Job hunting goes better with a German shorthaired pointer.
Every morning she reads across your selected job boards and makes sure you see the most interesting and earliest targets first. She will even encourage you to do some shoulder taps to make you stand out, and she keeps a clean record that pushes you to hunt further.
She is my loyal companion, and she can be yours for nine dollars a month.
Take'er home →The next ones may not even have a website.
Part of what comes next lives offline: screens hanging on a wall, buttons and levers you feel with your very own finger, real objects of my design. Right now it is an Excel sheet or a complaint I make out loud, or maybe just a vision of a cool shiny object.
Ask me →Industrial engineer, making the most of the build-your-own era.
I could have been a millionaire… had I only discovered Claude two years before everyone else.
I am a generalist with an appetite for building and a ridiculous amount of manpower on tap. Here I play entrepreneur with no serious business case: CEO, CMO and product manager, free to whip my imaginary developers and designers with infinite scope changes, useless features, and countless mockups I never end up using.
As my day job, I am a professional storyteller. Always looking for a technically rich story that lets me stretch my engineer's legs in a Sales & Strategy role.
